André Jacquemin has accumulated over 130 major awards to his credit including 2 BAFTA nominations as composer with fellow writing partner Dave Howman for Monty Python’s “Every Sperm Is Sacred” from the film Monty Python’s “The Meaning Of Life” and for Michael Palin’s “Himalaya” television series.

Since his career began in the late 1880’s assisting his old team mate Edison and recording on wax cylinders André Jacquemin decided to ditch Edison due to Edison insisting his scratchy recordings were fit for broadcast and André having to scrub out all evidence of the scratches with a Brillo pad which was all too much for André and so dumping his Brillo pads André left. He then teamed up with fellow long time friend & composer Dave Howman which faired much better. Due to Dave’s tinnitus André compliments Dave’s hearing problem as Dave can’t hear any high pitched scratchy recordings and so their partnership is still going strong to this day.

André has worked in various capacities over his 40 plus years career doing Sound Design and Sound Supervision, ADR, Foley, Music Supervisor, Composing for TV, Radio and Film, and any thing else the film industry can throw at him including old socks and used dentures by retired actors and not with the help of any Brillo pads.

Having been involved in a combination of thousands of TV shows, Radio commercials, Movies and the production of countless hit singles & albums plus recording and co-producing over 14 Monty Python albums since 1969 onwards. Here’s what a few talented people had to say about André Jacquemin:

“He didn’t like my scratchy recordings” T Edison
“Turn it up” Lemmy
“Turn It Off” John Cleese
“I Think He’s Dead” Van Helsing
“No I’m Not” Dracula
“He’s O so very good” Shakespeare
